MEET ALBERT

Service began
long before
this campaign.

Growing up here and serving this community has shown me what helps people thrive—and where life is getting harder.

As a pastor, community organization leader, former firefighter and volunteer in local sports, I’ve worked with people from many walks of life. I’ve seen the difference it makes when people show up, listen carefully and take responsibility.

Leading organizations has taught me to manage budgets, build partnerships and navigate difficult conversations. Those are the habits I would bring to Council: hear Ward 5 clearly, weigh the evidence and make decisions for the good of the whole township.

I’m a first-time candidate. I would start by understanding the work already underway, asking good questions and building productive relationships with Council and staff.

Council works as a team. These are the priorities I would bring to the table—and the questions I would keep asking.

01Responsible infrastructureLook after what we depend on.

Plan and fund roads, bridges, drainage, water, wastewater and fire services for the long term. Understand the condition of our assets, the risks of delay and what responsible renewal will cost.

02Disciplined budgetingRespect every tax dollar.

Look beyond the purchase price to the full cost of operating, maintaining and eventually replacing what we build. Weigh competing needs, explain the trade-offs and make decisions with taxpayers’ ability to pay in mind.

03Wise growthBuild a future that still feels like home.

Support growth that contributes its fair share to infrastructure and services. Consider housing needs and affordability alongside the protection of prime agricultural land and the rural character that makes Malahide special.

04Stronger communitiesHelp people connect, participate and thrive.

Support local businesses, recreation and partnerships that bring people together. Evaluate community spaces by who they serve, whether people can access them and the difference they make—not only by what they cost to build.

05Accountable leadershipListen carefully. Explain decisions. Follow through.

Seek input early enough to shape decisions, work constructively with Council and staff, and communicate the reasons behind difficult choices. Use Malahide’s 2023–2033 Strategic Plan to help measure progress and keep long-term goals in view.

We can disagree.
And still move forward.

Growing up, my dad taught us that we could argue about politics, challenge each other’s ideas and still remain connected as a family. That lesson has stayed with me.

Good leadership makes room for honest disagreement. I would listen to people who see things differently, speak plainly about difficult choices and work to earn trust through how I serve.

Listen well. Ask good questions. Follow through.
